Parish Church of Our Lady of the Snows on the Mountain

The parish church on Gora is dedicated to Our Lady of the Snows. It stands above the village of Petrinci, and there is a cemetery around the church, where you can find a monument to Magdalena Gornik (1835-1896), a mystic who is said to have experienced visions and lived without food for 47 years. Several thousand pages of records of mystical events (apparitions, reliving the Passion of Christ, signs of Christ’s wounds, stigmata, receiving Holy Communion in an extraordinary way) that she is said to have experienced from the age of 12 until her death have been preserved about Magdalena Gornik.
